Jim's Message

Our Constitution has been in place for almost 240 years and has worked remarkably well for our nation even though it was drafted in the times of the horse and buggy.  During this time we have passed 10 amendments providing for our Bill of Rights, a couple of amendments dealing with post civil war slavery issues, several amendments for the Presidency, and a couple of others dealing with Prohibition and other issues. The time has come to update the document for our current situation and current technology.

We need to have a Constitutional Convention to take the existing document and tweak it in multiple areas to bring it up to date.

The most urgent constitutional changes need to deal with our election processes. Those processes must be fair and transparent. The changes we need to incorporate into a revised U.S. Constitution including the following:

  • Uniform Election Laws
    • Paper Ballots, Proof of citizenship, Photo ID
    • Every Party will have a Primary for every office
    • States run all elections, with a secret ballot
Here People Vote in Diverse Election Booth
We the People Flag
  • Term Limits
  • Balanced budget, except in times of war
  • We all need to speak one language
  • Business Bill of Rights
***The highlighted items above are the most important. There also a multitude of other changes that could be made.***

Missouri passed a Resolution calling for a Convention of States under Article V of the constitution in June of 2017

Kansas passed a Resolution calling for a Convention of the States under Article V of the constitution in March of 2026

Goal if elected:
Visit every county in the 6th District once a year and have a Town Hall
Promises if elected:
Not to vote for any tax increases on you or your business
Not to spend more than four terms in the Congress

We need a representative who will not only take care of our current issues (a secure border, a strong military to protect us against our adversaries, and enforce the rule of law to keep our streets safe, and take care of our farmers who are the cultural back bone of our country) but will also worry about long-term problems and offer long-term solutions. Voters need a fresh candidate with a vision for our future and a plan to get us there. A candidate that will take all the slings and arrows that the political establishment will hurl in his direction and remain undeterred.

Jim Ingram is That Candidate
